Kerman , The heart of Desert and Mystery. Kerman Province is located in south-eastern of Iran; it is the largest province in Iran.

From the industrial, political, cultural and scientific points of view, it is the most important city in the southeast of Iran
Kerman province is one of the highest mountainous regions in the country exposed to warm and dry desert. The weather is dry and moderate at north, northwest and the center of the province, warm and moderate at east and dry and semi-moderate at Kerman city (the capital of the province).
The current metro area population of Kerman in 2020 is 541,000.

Nature of Kerman

1-Shazdeh Garden
The prince garden which was built during the Qajar period is one of the prettiest orchards in Iran. the garden is a perfect example of Persian gardens that take advantage of suitable natural climate.it covers an area of 5.5 hectares and contains a very lovely palace and fine water sprinkling system. Due to its location in the heart of the desert and the contrast between the green space inside the garden and the dry environment outside the garden walls, it has a special attraction for visitors and tourists.


2-Shahdad Kalut
If you are among the kaluts at sunrise or sunset, it is impossible to think of anything but admiring this wonder. As the sun sets, the stars slowly find themselves to turn the black sky into the most beautiful image in the world. When you first pass by this area and your eyes fall on the kaluts, you feel that human has played a role in their construction, but in fact the structures made by nature. Don’t forget to visit this place. You will experience the walk among the fantasy-land structures carved out of sand hills trough eons of the blowing desert winds.



3- Keshit waterfall
After passing through the historical context of the village, we reach a valley full of palm and citrus trees. In the heart of this lush valley, there is a water river that has created such incredible valleys in the heart of the desert, where few people might even think that there is water in this area. Other beauties of this valley can be mentioned that small and large waterfalls have been created in the walls of this valley. Along with these waterfalls, special species of ferns and mudstones have also grown.


4- Ayyub cave
Caves have long been part of the mysteries of nature and their strange shapes have created thousands of stories and legends. Ayyub Cave is the only cave in the world that has a very large opening and this feature has distinguished it from all caves in the world.


Meymannd Village

The historical village of Meymand with an area of 420 square kilometers is one of the most important and largest villages in Iran and the world, where life is still going on and its people have preserved many traditions of their predecessors. This village is one of the most important sights of Kerman province.
Meymand village is located at an altitude of 2,240 meters above sea level and between the plains and mountains. In the past, this plain was covered with pistachio and wild almond trees.
According to archeological researches, Meymand village dates back to two to three thousand years ago. Archaeological excavations of Meymand Fortress and the results of carbon testing of 14 pieces of pottery obtained date the history of Meymand to the Parthian period. In addition, the rock motifs around the village of Meymand indicate the presence of humans in earlier millennia in this area.
The residents of Meymand village still keep many of the customs of their ancestors. In such a way that even in their language and dialect, Sassanid Pahlavi words are still used.


Nightlife of Kerman

1-    Prince Garden (Sahzdeh Garden)
The indescribable beauty of this garden amazes you. At night, a combination of tall trees, the soothing sound of water and silence give you great pleasure. Shazdeh garden is one of the best places to spend your time day and night.


2- Vakil Tea house
While sightseeing in the old bazaar of Kerman, you can visit Vakil Bath, which has been renovated in the best way and turned into an old teahouse, where you can enjoy food, desserts, drinks and live music.


People & culture

The inhabitants of Kerman province are Aryans like the rest of Iran. Besides the Shia sect, Zoroastrians and Dervishes (Sufi’s) are living in the province with their religious rites including the famous Mehregan festival.  The majority of inhabitants speak Farsi with a sweet Kermani dialect, but there are other minorities with their local dialects.
